What is Beattyville/Lee County doing to promote shopping locally...Giving away FIVE $100 gift cards to people who shops small on Small Business Saturday! Here is how to participate...
1) On Saturday, November 28th, 2015 go to one or many local participating businesses in Lee County and the City of Beattyville.
2) Fill out your information and drop it into the "SHOP SMALL DROP BOX", One drop per person per store..be sure to visit at all the stores for multiple chances to win. Be sure to also visit all the vendors who represent the at-home businesses set up at PEP on Main Street.
While you are there, support local business by making a purchase at that store. Purchase is not necessary to enter the drawing, however think about what do you need done this month and if that task can be done locally. Oil change, hair cut, groceries, holiday shopping! Try shopping local first support our local economy!
3) This year we are including Non-Profits of Lee County. Here is your chance to raise funds for your school group and organization. All you have to do is enter your organization in the "Battle of the Floats". Create a holiday float for the Christmas Spirit Parade that night. Set it up all day during Small Business Saturday and compete with the other floats to collect community donations thoughout the day. A "Shop Small Drop Box" will be placed at each float location on Main Street. At the end of the day the float that received the most donations will be the Grand Marshalls of the Parade and win a bonus of $500 for their non-profit.
We have 44 businesses so far participating in Small Business Saturday in Beattyville, KY. Be sure to also join us at 6pm on Nov 28th for Christmas Spirit. There will be a Christmas Parade though the beautifully decorated Main Street, along with the Christmas tree lighting, photos with Santa, and the Kiwanis Treat Giveaway. Also the Chamber of Commerce will be doing their drawing for a flat screen TV. Raffles will be available for purchase at Don Begley Auto Sales all day on Saturday, Nov 28th.
