On Saturday, November 26th and Saturday, December 3rd consider shopping locally in downtown Beattyville for that special holiday gift item. While you are shopping, look for the “Shop Local Blue Boxes” at participating businesses to enter the Shop Small Sweepstakes for a chance to win $250 cash. There are a few businesses who have holiday specials such as “no sales tax day” at Rose Brother’s Dept Store, 35% off all watches at Dunahoo Furniture, and order a medium pizza made anyway for only $10 at Hilltop Pizza. You have missed out if you have not yet seen the antiques and crafted items at Uncle Bill’s Trading Post and Gray’s Antiques. There are also a few businesses having special events such as the Indoor Yard Sale at the Lee County Recreational Center and Customer Appreciation day at Congleton Brother’s on December 3rd.
Buying local is also a chance to meet talented artisans and small business owners who take great pride in their work, experience handmade, one-of-a-kind and meaningful gifts and support your community. Be sure to stop by The Art Factory Coffeehouse and the showroom at Don Begley Auto Sales to support at-home businesses and local talented artists who will be set up. There will be jewelry, monogram custom items, painted gourds, handmade soaps, fire-forged tools, and more.
Plan to shop locally this holiday season. Drop your information into the blue box at participating businesses on November 26th and December 3rd for chances to win $250 cash.
