About the Market
The Market is set up across from the Beattyville Post Office on Main Street, 290 Main Street Beattyville, KY in the Ed Jackson Building. They are open every Thursday and Friday of each week from 9am – 4pm. The Market is also open every first and second Saturday of each month.
Our area has many local artisans and crafters; our goal is to provide an opportunity for them to showcase their talents and for our local farmers to have a place to sell their fresh produce. We also want to provide everyone with an opportunity to buy local products as often as we can. There will continue to be all kinds of great items to shop for including vegetables, fruits, baked goods, soaps, masks, jewelry, wood products, and more. At our market, you hand your money to the person right in front of you who grew or made the products and that is a good feeling! Thank you to all who supported our local farmers, bakers & makers! Market ProgramsWho wants free veggies?
During the Farmers Market summer season (June-October) is beginning of our Kentucky Double Dollars program for the year. SNAP users can double their benefits up to $12 a day at the market each week! The process is quick and easy! Just head to the market and swipe your SNAP card. For each $2 of SNAP that you use, get a matching $2 Kentucky Double Dollars token through the Kentucky Double Dollars program & Community Farm Alliance up to $12 a day. Spend your tokens on Kentucky grown produce, fruit, and edible plant starts from market vendors. Another program is the Senior Citizen Nutrition Program. Seniors over 55 years old can apply to receive a $50 prepaid card to be used with local produce market vendors. Applications available in May the program duration is June - October.
